PUBLIC INFORMATION
Pursuant to R.C. §5502.12, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shall furnish a copy of a motor vehicle accident report completed by its officers to any person claiming an interest arising out of the accident, or to the person’s attorney, upon the payment of a nonrefundable fee of four dollars ($4.00). The cost of photographs shall be in addition to such fee.
PRIVACY POLICY NOTICE
The following is a brief summary of personal privacy rights and public access rights for information transmitted across this web site:
- We do not release your personal information for bulk distribution purposes (surveys, solicitations, "junkmail," etc.) unless you so request.
- We do not release resident address information about peace officers except in accordance with law.
- We do release information to government agencies, for vehicle safety recalls, to courts, for limited research purposes, to insurance companies, to towing companies, to private investigators, to CDL employers, and for other public safety purposes, all in accordance with the restrictions and limitations imposed by law.
TRANSACTION SECURITY INFORMATION AND DISCLAIMER

Use of secure browser. To ensure a reasonable degree of security for your request for accident reports, you must use a Web browser with secure socket layer (SSL) capability. If you do not use a SSL compatible browser, we may not be able to process your request.
Your responsibility.The accuracy and completeness of the data you enter is key to a correct and successful transaction. If you enter incomplete or inaccurate information, your transaction may not be processed. Neither the OSHP nor the State of Ohio is responsible if you submit inaccurate or incomplete information.
Important information for users of public computers.If you use a computer at a public location, such as a library, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your personal information, including your account number.
System technology.We will process your transaction by a state-of-the-art system which has been designed in accordance with good commercial practice; however, neither the OSHP nor the State of Ohio can guarantee that all transactions submitted through this system will be received and successfully completed.
Firewalls.Our firewalls are a complex system of hardware and software that allow us to strictly regulate information and data that can enter and exit our servers. This insures that only authorized access occurs. No Internet customer information is stored on our Internet servers. Records are stored in separate databases not directly connected to the Internet.
Confirmation of completed transaction.You will see a Confirmation screen when you complete your transaction. We strongly recommend that you print and keep a copy of the Confirmation page.
Payment information.Your payment information is encrypted to prevent unauthorized access. The OSHP retains only the payment information necessary to verify the transaction.
